Enactus is a global non-profit organization with over 70,000 students, academics and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world.
Enactus Capilano was founded in 2016, and it immediately took action to improve business education in local schools. Our initial team of 16 students established our first project, initially named Counting on Action and now SquareOne, teaching 180 students the importance of entrepreneurial and sustainable business practices in the team’s first year. Now, with a team of 26, we have developed and implemented three projects over 8 years. We impacted over 645 students and helped 95% of our students to understand the fundamentals of credits with our project SquareOne; we impacted 300 students through our GreenBlog project and reduced 150 lbs of food waste through 4 events; we actively impacted 184 people through mental health activities with our U-Belong project and were able to increase 40% of the impacted mental health knowledge. We are actively working to improve more lives by developing new projects, beginning at home at Capilano University.
Our team’s hard work and dedication have been rewarded at both the Enactus Canada Regional and National Exhibitions, bringing home 5 trophies since 2018.
